Haseen Hasan directorial Alif is in a league of its own. The script has been beautifully penned by Umera Ahmed and the drama’s soulful narrative dives deep into the complexities of worldly pleasure and spirituality.
Alif incorporates two timelines one focusing on Momina Sultan (Sajal Aly) and Qalb e Momin (Hamza Ali Abbasi), and the other is the latter’s childhood i.e. story of his parents Taha (Ahsan Khan) and Husn e Jahan (Kubra Khan).
Kubra was supposed to play the character however due to some scheduling conflicts she had to back out. Fortunately the dates were sorted and the actress was back on board to play Husn e Jahan. Kubra plays a conflicted actress who has seen the highs of her career but bids that life farewell in pursuit of reaffirming her faith and spirituality. But the road ahead puts her to test forcing her back to her old life and eventually committing suicide.
Her character and Kubra’s portrayal makes the character relatable. The strong script is food for thought for the audience. Recently Kubra took to her Instagram to share her sentiments about the character. She termed Husn e Jahan as a character that changed her life “Husn e Jahan you are that moment of impact.”
She even showed her gratitude to director Haseeb Hasan and producer Sana Shahnawaz for giving her the role. She also thanked Ahsan Khan, Pehlaaj (young Qalb e Momin), her make up artist as well as Umera Ahmed. She also took a moment to thank Allah for the journey.
