Chhalawa director Wajahat Rauf had announced his 4th film Pardey Mein Rehne Do has gone on floor at the beginning of this month. This was followed by the cast and crew posing a picture on set with face mask to establish that they are taking all necessary precautions to combat the coronavirus. We at BOD had reached out to the director a few days ago. Wajahat Rauf had revealed that they are half way through shooting and making sure everyone stays safe as he is well aware of the dangers of the on-going COVID-19 pandemic.
However, the condition has gotten even more grave in the past few days and social distancing is the need of the hour. Keeping that in mind the director revealed that they have put a halt to the shoot. In an Instagram post he wrote,
“Showcase films has decided to halt shooting of our film ‘Parde mein rehne do’ in light of the current situation. While we all have deadlines and the risk of facing significant financial losses, the risk of Corona spreading here like it has in other countries is unimaginable. We thank our cast and crew for being extremely supportive and hope we can all get through this together and without damage. Stay safe! “
Parday Mein Rehne Do stars Hania Amir and Ali Rehman Khan in the lead.Written by Mohsin Ali and produced by Showcase films, the project aims to tackle a social issue while entertaining the audience. Although filmmakers have high stakes involved, their own health and of those around them is certainly more important. So this is the right decision for sure. The film was scheduled for release in 2020. With the current situation all activity has come to a halt creating a lot of uncertainty in terms of release schedule of all films.
