” Women already have a hard time getting acceptance in our society, so I didn’t want to give them another issue. Of course it is just a drama, they are all actors and it is just a story. But I wasn’t being able to accept this character to go to such lengths.”

Iffat Omar asked whether Sonya regrets missing out on a show that has become such a phenomal success.

” No not really, I had put in a lot of thought before taking this decision. In fact Nadeem bhai and Adnan (Siddique) were pulling my leg the other day that look how well it is doing. But even they knew that I didn’t want to do it.”

Not only is there no bad blood between them, she further shared how honored she feels being mentioned by the makers as their first choice.
