Bachaana was local film released in the dullest period of the year i.e. February in Pakistan with cricket fever going on which further stopped film’s potential at the boxoffice.. Film had seen Sanam Saeed first time on screen and had debutante director Nasir Khan.. Rustom staring Akshay Kumar in lead with super hit music and Independence Day Weekend had all ingredients to open well at boxoffice but film had tough clash from Mohenjo Daro..

Despite attachment of big names in the cast and super hit music, Rustom failed to beat Bachaana on any day except day two as Day two of Bachaana had big Pakistan vs India cricket match whereas Rustom had Independence Day on Day three which meant huge growth on Day two!! Even Day two lead of Rustom was small!! Bachaana had collected around 2.25cr approx over it’s Weekend whereas Rustom collected around 2cr approx.. On Day One Bachaana had collected 65lacs approx whereas Rustom collected 54lacs approx..

After Weekend things remained slow but steady for both films over Week One Weekdays.. Things changed from 2nd Weekend where Bachaana again scored close to it’s first Weekend whereas Rustom had fallen around 50% which is a decent hold looking at fact that usually Hindi films fall big in 2nd Weekend. No release of Happy Bhaag Jayegi also benefited Rustom which meant film retained shows at plexes and masses both!!

Rustom has collected 4.11cr approx in two Weeks whereas Bachaana had collected around 6cr approx in same period! Bachaana had opened just 17% bigger on Day One whereas as Weekend was just 10% bigger but 14 Days total is 50% bigger for Bachaana which tells that film’s content got appreciation at ticket window..

Lifetime numbers of Rustom will end in the region of 5cr approx at best as A Flying Jatt has taken almost all shows from Rustom this Weekend whereas Bachaana had gone around 10cr approx which is double of Rustom!! Rustom had two open Weeks and could have repeated run like Bachaana and emerged a big winner but film is looking end Average at best!!
