PK has a very distinct and fresh soundtrack created by different musical talents from different spectrum bollywood music production. With composers such as Ajay-Atul, Shantanu Moitra and Ankit Tiwari joining hands, the soundtrack with its seven tracks is not exactly something extraordinarily brilliant but is enjoyable enough. Each song has some a great lyrics behind it and maybe every song is fitted to accompany the plot of “PK”.
Composed by Ajay-Atul and sung by Swaroop Khan of Indian Idol fame, Tharki Chokro is packed with a blend of raw Rajasthani feel but sadly it is quite similar to many of Bollywood attempts at combing Rajasthani folk and mainstream Bollywood music.
Nanga Punga Dost.. A feel good and a friendly vibe is attached to this particular track with brilliant violin piece to accompany it as well. Shantanu Moitra has enough musical expertise to make a decent track, while Shreya Ghoshal can light up any song. This track might not become very popular but is enjoyable enough to listen up a few times.
“Chaar Kadam” has a sweet melodic charm about it and even though the track appears repetitive and dragged at times, Shreya and Shaan are a perfect fit to carry this track.
Love Is A Waste Of Time.. This particular track has a certain level of cuteness and a feel good factor deployed by Shantanu Moitra while Shreya Ghoshal and the master himself Sonu Nigam add together weight and soul to this track. This track also has some charming lyrics to add to tyhe overall feel.
“Bhagwan Hai Kahan Re Tu” reminds a lot of the song “Jaane nahin denge” from 3 idiots and it is one of those Sonu Nigam songs that has become his trademarks. The song has beautifully carved lyrics designed with a perfect musical balance and this track is the best if you prefer these types of tracks.
PK Dance Theme.. This theme track is quite colourful and might be remembered on if PK is to be a huge success like “3 idiots”.
Dil Darbadar is a number sung and composed by Ankit Tiwari. This songs doesnt fit quite well within the soundtrack which is quite preppy and uplifting. However the song is well sung and deserves muultiple listens.
