Eid is always a major holiday for film buffs and cine-goers. This year numerous titles were set for release however due to the escalating coronavirus situation and social distancing SOPs, they won’t be seeing the light of day on Eid. However, there is still a chance to get a dose of entertainment as many films are heading for their television premieres. Those of you who didn’t get a chance to catch these movies in the cinema or are looking to watch them again can do so this Eid.
Almost all the Eid releases from 2019 are set to premiere along with some other titles. Let’s have a look at films which will be premiering on TV this Eid ul Fitr:
1.The Donkey King
After making strides not only in Pakistan but also at various international markets the 2018 release will be premiered on Eid day one on Geo TV. The Donkey King broke numerous box office records and also set an example for animated films in Pakistan. The film has been directed by Aziz Jindani, whereas the characters have been voiced by Rambo (Afzal Khan), Hina Dilpazer, Ghulam Mohiuddin, Jawed Sheikh, and Shafaat Ali.
Mahira Khan and Bilal Ashraf’s 2019 romance drama was released on Eid ul Azha. The film was particularly praised for its music and received good reviews as well. If you are looking for a romantic love story this Eid then Superstar is worth a watch. It will be premiered on Hum TV. The film landed
Saqib Malik’s directorial debut Baaji received immense critical acclaim. The film highlights the impact of a merciless ageist industry on an actress Shameera along with some dramatic turn of events that lead to murder. The film stars Meera, Amna Ilyas, Osman Khalid Butt, Mohsin Abbas Haider, Ali Kazmi, and Nayeer Ejaz. Baaji will premier on ARY Digital on Eid day 3.
4. Heer Maan Ja
Hareem Farooq and Ali Rehman Khan starrer comedy film Heer Maan Ja is also making its way to Geo TV this Eid. Produced by IRK and Arif Lakhani Films, and directed by Sherdil’s Azfar Jafri. The film offers a love story wrapped around a comedic setting and good music.
5. Wrong No 2
Sami Khan and Neelam Muneer starrer Wrong No 2 emerged as a hit for 2019 as the film’s box office exceeded the budget including P&A. Directed by Yasir Nawaz and produced by Hasan Zia, the comedy film has a mass appeal. Catch it on Eid day 3 on Geo.
Momal Sheikh and Yasir Akhtar starrer Azaad is also making its way to Aaj TV this Eid. The film has been shot in London. The film is part of the ‘Multinational Films’ project under which Multiple 100-minute films will be produced in various international locations. Produced by Motion Content Group and Pegasus Productions, the film has been directed by Yasir Akhtar.
