By now everyone is well aware that immensely popular drama Mere Paas Tum Ho’s story revolved around a once happily married couple that undergoes a lot of heartbreak and turmoil when the wife, Mehwish ( played by Ayeza Khan), leaves for another man. The drama concluded with the husband aka Danish ( Humayun Saeed) dying of heartbreak due to that betrayal and his undying love for his wife.

Why did Sonya Hussyn refuse to play Mehwish in Mere Paas Tum Ho?

The intense drama was written by Khalil ur Rehman Qamar who had a very strange philosophy while explaining gender roles via his story. The finale was screened at cinemas nationwide and many went to watch this on silver screen.

The climax of the drama was one that many didn’t anticipate, while others questioned why Danish met with this misfortune instead of Mehwish or Shahwar.

After the screening while talking to ARY reporter, the playwright was asked the inevitable to which he responded,

“Killing her ( Mehwish) doesn’t make sense, she should stay alive and live with this regret. Danish on the other hand could not allow himself to turn to another woman. That is why he passed away.”

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s next collaboration with dream team Humayun saeed and Nadeem Baig is London Nahe Jaunga which is slated release on Eid-ul-Azha.
