Another huge loss to the world of cinema as veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor has passed away at 67.
Rishi Kapoor had an illustrious career with tunes from his films still being sung. Kapoor was suffering from cancer. He was diagnosed with leukaemia back in 2018. The actor underwent long treatment in New York before returning to India.
On Wednesday, he was rushed to the hospital with respiratory difficulties. In an official statement issued by his family it was declared that he passed away in peace and kept the doctors entertained before he passed.
Rishi Kapoor was part of a long line of Kapoor dynasty who have reigned over Bollywood film industry for years. He began his career debut as a child star in 1970 with his father Raj Kapoor’s film Mera Naam Joker. In 1973 he bagged his lead role with teen romance film Bobby. Among recent films he was seen in Jhoota Kahin Ka in 2019. He had recently announced the remake of Hollywood film “The Intern” alongside Deepika Padukone.
He has given multiple blockbuster and worked alongside other Bollywood legends like Amitabh Bachchan. He also worked in several films opposite to his wife Neetu Singh. Kapoor’s family legacy was taken forward by son Ranbir Kapoor who has made a name for himself in Bollywood as well.
Rishi Kapoor is survived by wife Neetu Singh, son Ranbir Kapoor and daughter Riddhima Kapoor. He has passed away just a day after the death of Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan who too was battling cancer. The news has shaken fans and fraternity alike.
